Industries employing the largest number of Medium/Heavy Truck mechanics were vehicle and equipment dealers, rental and leasing agencies, independent repair shops, local and long-distance trucking companies, public transit companies, school systems, and government agencies.  Employment opportunities for diesel mechanics are expected to increase through the year 2010.
